Workshop Title:  Tai Chi – A Discipline of the Spiritual Warrior
Mind, body, and spirit are all One.  To find balance you must work with your entire being.  Enlightenment is as much of the body as it is of the mind.  Conversely,  health is as much of the mind as of the body.  Vitality is an aspect of spirit.  To have these in our lives, we must work with our being as a whole. Tai Chi brings your entire being into balance and harmony, even in the midst of the constant changes of  life.  It draws its strength from the ancient tradition of Tao to help you reach a state of harmony.

Susan Boles has been a licensed Unity teacher for more than 25 years. She embraced the idea of  reincarnation at an early age. She has many memories of other expressions of being. In her work as an intuitive counselor, she continues to gain insights on the subject. Her greatest joy is awakening all to the wonder of Oneness. Susan lives in Murrells Inlet, SC with her husband, two dogs and cat.

Workshop Title: Why Reincarnation?
This workshop brings participants together to look at their lives as part of a Grand Divine Plan. Beliefs about reincarnation through the ages will be discussed. Personal experiences will be shared on a voluntary basis. Participants will have the opportunity to follow several threads of their past and future lives. Remembering the journey of one’s unique and courageous soul adds greater purpose to life today. J. Vaughn Boone was born on a farm in 1916.  At sixteen he went to work in a textile mill to earn money for college.  After two years, he accomplished that goal and went on to study to be a doctor and a minister.  He spent four years as an officer in the United States Air Force.  He is a healer, a lecturer, and a seeker of truth.  He has been facilitating discussion groups for forty years.  He claims his current occupation as “cramming for my finals.”

Workshop Title:  It All Adds Up
After many years of presenting and attending workshops and lectures, Vaughn’s files are full of consciousness expanding ideas.  While seeking guidance for this workshop, the thought came loud and clear, “It all adds up.”  Please come prepared to share the ideas that have been meaningful to you.  Let us re-visit our own “birthquakes.”  Let us enrich each others lives by sharing.  Vaughn’s workshops fill up fast because they are so much fun and so enlightening.

Warren Boone was born into a metaphysical family 58 years ago.  This fortune of birth has graced him with many unique experiences.  He is a Reiki master, a practitioner of Huna and Silva and he has facilitated a group studying “A Course in Miracles” for several years.  Warren also works with a band of doctors on the other side.

Workshop Title: Recapturing the Love and Closeness
For those of you that have attended this conference in the past – do you remember that loving feeling at the end of each conference? In this interactive workshop we will strive to bring that closeness to the beginning of the week.  This loving closeness is the arena where true healing resides.  No prior experience required!

Workshop Title: Accepting Personal Responsibility For Your Own Healing
This is another workshop facilitated by Warren.  Be prepared to explore the idea of receiving a fatal prognosis and using that gift to take the steps to heal the mind and then the body.

Worth Cooley-Prost is a teacher, artist, and writer.  She worked in human services in North Carolina.  For twenty-five years she worked in biomedical research in the Washington, DC area.  The past two decades have carried many Gifts of learning from Haiti, from the Arizona desert, and from First Peoples, especially those of our hemisphere.  www.wcpfinecrafts.com

Workshop Title:  Being Here at This Time of  the World
This is a very unusual and important time of the world.  All our systems are fragile, unraveling, or broken.  Even if your own life is still in balance, you don’t have to look far to see big problems getting bigger.  Indigenous elders     have spoken of this escalating chaos for centuries.  Their understandings give us very different ways of seeing and responding to where we are and what is ahead.  Day 1 of the class will look at twelve specific elements that are essentially identical among Old Cultures, i.e., many thousands of years old, not a few hundred.  Day 2 of the class will focus on specific elements of our own cultural hypnosis that create and sustain much of what we are facing, and some ways to translate these things into hopeful differences in our own lives and the world. You will receive a good resource list to go further into what rings True to you.

Arthur Douet is an internationally recognized visual artist. He trained at the acclaimed Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris from 1966 through 1969. Arthur’s paintings express not only exquisite portraiture but also mystical symbolism. He also teaches portraiture and imaginative composition by invitation. Workshop Title: Your Power to Create
This is an hands on experiential workshop, an opportunity to tap into the creative reservoir within each of us to express through intuition, imagination, and the feeling nature, images in line and color. This experience celebrates the inner child at play. No art background is required. All materials are provided. Gentle guidance and demonstrations are given by Arthur.

Shawn Gallaway is a multi-talented guitarist, singer-songwriter, playwright, and visual artist. Shawn weaves music, song, and painting into a richly textured experience that calls for enlightened activism. He uses painting and music as a tool for healing. Shawn has traveled extensively and performed in venues from the Broadway Music Hall in Seattle to the Diana Wortham Theater in Asheville, NC. Shawn will present songs and artwork related to his personal spiritual journey. He will address becoming a Spiritual Warrior through art and music.

Workshop Title: Empowerment Through Passion
The goal of this workshop will be to empower participants to take caring, positive action in their lives and in the world right now. Movement and guided meditation will be used as tools to reclaiming personal gifts and to cultivating passion to share them with the world.

Donna Spring Gulick, M.A., began spiritual teaching in her teens. She has now served full-time as an intuitive counselor, spiritual director, teacher, healer, and speaker for over 25 years. Donna conveys universal truths that serve us in the interweaving of the sacred and the practical. She lovingly inspires conscious healing and empowerment on physical, emotional, and spiritual levels. Her humorous but deeply inspirational talks and workshops at conferences, churches, and universities turn audiences into sacred communities.

Workshop Title: Staying in Touch with Source, the Earth and Each Other

Gloria D. Karpinski is a holistic counselor, spiritual director, teacher, and author. Her seminars as well as her individual in-depth life attunements emphasize the relevancy of universal spiritual principles to everyday life and the interdynamics of mind, body, emotions, and spirit. Gloria graduated from the University of North Carolina. She is an ordained minister in the International Church of Ageless Wisdom, an interfaith church without walls. Lecture Title:  Prophecy: Real? Relevant?
From Nostradamus to the Bible, from ancient mystics to modern intuitives, prophecy is woven into our human experience.  Many prophecies are amazingly fulfilled as declared:  many are not.  So what do we know about this dynamic that seems to observe events outside time and space? After the titillation and the “oh, wows” that prophecies seem to elicit, what is actually the value, if any, for us in the here and now?  This afternoon Gloria will offer some considerations about the subject; share some prophetic experiences of her own and lead a discussion

Workshop Title: Staying in Touch with Source, the Earth, and Each Other
We are in the evolutionary countdown now. The mandate is to be steady and in service during this time of change. Both Donna Gulick and Gloria Karpinski have taught for many years and they focus their teachings on tips and techniques for being in this world but not of it. Practical mysticism draws upon the universal principles that weave through various traditions as golden threads, starting with the essential awakening to our true identity as sons and daughters of the Divine. In this four day shared workshop, participants will explore many master keys for anchoring one’s spirit on earth, recognizing one’s soul intention, managing resources and karmic contacts. And, of course, staying sane and balanced through it all. This workshop will include lecture, meditations, and exercises.

Workshop Title: Let's Make a Reliquary
Reliquary (noun) pronunciation re-li-kwer-e, etymology: French reliquaire, medieval Latin reliquiarium, from reliquia.  Definition:  a container or shrine in which sacred relics are kept.  Join Elizabeth, a long time member of the SESC family, in this fun-filled class and make a reliquary to take home as a memento of the Conference.  Elizabeth will provide all the materials needed for this project, however if you have a special shell or small stone you would like to adorn your reliquary with, please bring it to class!  We will be using “grown-up” paints that can stain clothes and skin, so a smock and gloves might also be appropriate.

Workshop Title: Let's Make a Journal
Elizabeth will guide you in making an archival quality bound journal in this exciting class.  Archival acid free paper will be used, and you will learn some bookbinding techniques.  No experience is necessary and all materials will be provided.

Timothy A. McNamara is a Reiki Master in the direct lineage of Dr. Mikao Usui, Dr. Chujiro Hyashi, Hawayo Takata, Virginia Samdahl, and Dr. Viola Ebert. He is a dynamic and powerful teacher and healer who is invited to teach throughout the United States. Timothy resides in Denver, CO where he owns and operates a healing and teaching center.

Workshop Title: The Usui System of Natural Healing
The Usui System of Natural Healing commonly called traditional Reiki, is an ancient, oriental healing art. It is a method of using the natural life force energy of the universe to heal on all levels, physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Reiki has been shown to be compatible with and complimentary to modern medicine. This technique is very effective and works regardless of belief in it. The ability to heal the self and others can be unlocked in anyone by an initiated Reiki Master. This is a first degree class. (This workshop will be taught jointly with Ed Summers. See below.)

Workshop Title: Second Degree Reiki
The second degree Reiki workshop is open to those persons who are certified in First Degree Reiki and have been using it for at least three months. Second degree training allows one to accelerate the healing cycle. Treating mental imbalances is part of the training at this level. A unique and effective method of absentee healing is taught. PLEASE NOTE. This is a special workshop offered during afternoon free time. Full week conference participants can register for this class for a love offering. All others must see the registrar to apply for the class. There is a fee of $200 for non-conference participants.

Joy Messick has presented in over a thousand venues throughout North America, Europe, and the Middle East for educational, business, religious, and metaphysical organizations. She is the co-author of Resonance Healing, A Unified Healing System©, and author of A Place for You, a personal memoir of healing. Joy is currently working on a manuscript detailing her work on Feminine and Masculine consciousness and the Unified Field. She makes her home in Ann Arbor, MI where she facilitates workshops at the retreat center she operates.

Workshop Title: Ice skating on Rollerblades
Joy will lead this adventurous workshop using play and creativity to explore the life of the spiritual warrior within us. Learn to overcome obstacles, experience true healing, and gain courage and lasting understanding on your way to success and mastery in navigating life’s frozen lakes while strapped to polyurethane wheels. Note to participants: Actual rollerblades are neither required nor recommended for this workshop.

Margaret Mohr has been Master of Ceremonies for many years for this conference.  She has over twenty-five years of experience in the field of personal and group motivation.  She is a radio talk show host, an advocate for women’s issues, and a leader of “A Course in Miracles” study groups.  She also maintains a private counseling practice.  Her interests are wide and varied, but the one constant is an abiding belief that safety, dignity, and fulfillment should be available for all.

Workshop Title: Advanced AstroDrama
This is a fun-filled follow-up to the original AstroDrama workshop. Margaret will once again lead the class through a hands-on explanation and experience of the “Living Zodiac.”  This year’s workshop will include exploration and awareness of the more advanced topics of aspects, transits, houses, and progressions. Class members will have the opportunity to see and understand the dynamics of astrology in real time, as we act out the many parts of the chart.  Prepare to enjoy intriguing information, camaraderie, and many laughs as we bring astrology to life.

Laraaji Nadananda is a musician extraordinaire and Laughter Meditation teacher who tours internationally sharing his gifts of bliss and higher vision through concerts and playful Consciousness flowshops. He has many recordings of original music, many of which feature the magically transporting sound of Celestial Zither and ecstatic voice. Workshop Title:  Tarot – Tool for Transformation
The tarot is an ancient tool comprised of  78 of life’s lessons in pictorial form which can provide a well-lighted path for spiritual growth and psychological insight.  This workshop will unfold a wonderful store of wisdom within, enabling the spiritual warrior to walk a sacred and clear path in the flow of life. Stanley Schnier is an internationally known photographer based in New York. His photography reflects what is around us every day and is directed toward the raising of consciousness.  His corporate clients include such giants as American Express and Citibank.  His editorial clients include Seventeen and Metropolis.

Lecture Title:  Concerned Photography
Many photographers over the past century have used concerned photography to evoke compassion.  Stan will share some of  these photographs  and comment upon how they have affected attitudes which have lead to positive changes in our society.

Workshop Title: The Camera as Social Reformer
Concerned Photography was introduced into the United States by Louis Hine in the early twentieth century.  His social reform portfolios included the holding rooms of Ellis Island, child labor-driven industry, and the European survivors of WW 1.  Many photographers since that time have used their camera as a tool to effect change. Stan has spent many years developing his own portfolios of concerned photography.  He will share  his experience and expertise with workshop participants. Since in this modern digital age, virtually everyone carries a camera in their pocket, we can all use this technique to evoke positive change. Participants will learn how to use photography to communicate emotion and to move people toward positive change.

Ed Summers is a certified Traditional Reiki Master trained by Timothy McNamara in the direct lineage of Dr. Mikao Usui. He is also a certified physical therapist assistant. Ed resides in Marion, Kansas.

LeRoy Zemke, a Wisconsin native, has lived for forty-eight years in St. Petersburg, FL. He is the senior pastor of the Temple of the Living God, a metaphysical community church. Lecture/Healing Ceremony Title: A Life Style for Wholeness
Each of us consciously or unconsciously chooses a lifestyle that supports (or not) the idea of wholeness which includes our physical, emotional, and psychological health and our overall wellness. Using metaphor, humor, and an inviting style of presentation, LeRoy Zemke will offer insights along with some of the most current research that supports a positive program for wholeness.

Workshop Title: Signposts Along the Awakening Journey
l. Discovering our part in the Big Picture. Where are we on our personal journey. Seeing beyond success and performance. What is the nature of our relationship to our Higher Self? (Key exercise will help define answers.)
2. We are Spiritual Beings having a human experience. Going beyond appearances. Examples of spiritual presence/awareness in a world that rewards ego driven results. How do we live from spiritual strength?
3. Practice of the Quiet Mind. Quieting the chattering “Monkey Mind.” How do we genuinely meditate given our human nature, our issues, conflicts, and obsessive behaviors? Is a state of inner peace really possible?
4. Visions and Mystical Elements of the soul. What is defined as a vision? Are psychic experiences necessary? Qualifying our internal experience of what we identify as the mystical path, or our intuition as a reliable voice ...Deeply learning to trust God and the sacred in every area of your life.
